Sophisticated Beasts premiered at RNG Gallery in Council Bluff, Iowa, in 2012. Rob Gilmer, owner and curator of the gallery, wrote, "(Kim) creates new worlds of abstractions, which reveal glimpses of familiar worldly experiences. All aspects of her works are thought out and painted with her slanted, twisted editorial eye. Kim has been painting larger this past year: one of the paintings is approximately 10 feet tall. She has been expanding her vision, it has been maturing and expanding to new apexes. This show will be an important exhibition in Kim’s career. It is a show that sparks new ideas and directions."
